Dr. Yu Shulin spent three days sharing his experience on three topics: What is successful academic English writing? How to report qualitative studies in journal manuscripts? How can we publish qualitative research papers: from submission to acceptance.

During the lectures, Dr. Yu vividly dismantled the basic composition of a standard English academic dissertation in detail. Combined with principles and methods of qualitative research design, Dr. Yu analyzed the structure and writing logic of qualitative research papers. Combining his own submission experience, he pointed out the points for attention in the presentation of papers, selection of publications, and manuscript revision, he then encouraged the students to adhere to writing, to submit boldly, and to boldly take the first step.

After sharing the basic principles and techniques, Dr. Yu organized doctoral students to perform simulation exercises on what they had learned. The students reported one by one and Dr. Yu assessed and reported on their performance. Provide specific guidance for follow-up qualitative research practice and publication. Prof. Chen Shuangye, Professor Hu Huixi, Professor Liu Lianghua, Associate Professor Zhou Wenye, Associate Professor An Guiqing, Associate Professor Wang Xiaoming, Associate Professor Wang Zhe and others attended the seminar. The three-day course not only embodies the “marathon” type of knowledge intensity but also the academic excellence of “dashing”.
