ICI Was Honored on the Teacher’s Day Conference of ECNU

Recently, East China Normal University celebrated the 34th Teacher's Day and commended a conference in Yifu Building. Nearly 300 people attended the conference. ICI, the research group led by Professor Cui Yunhuo, was awarded the first batch of “Cultivating People with Sublime Virtue Teaching Group” by East China Normal University and was honored on the conference.

In order to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the spirit of the "Opinions of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on Comprehensively Deepening the Reform of the Teaching Reform of the New Era", focus on the fundamental tasks of strengthen moral education and cultivate people, and earnestly strengthen the construction of teachers' morality and ethics, numbers of departments of ECNU jointly launched the activity of establish “Cultivating People with Sublime Virtue Teaching Group”. After the review, ICI, the research group led by Professor Cui Yunhuo was awarded the first batch of “Cultivating People with Sublime Virtue Teaching Group”.

What is the Curriculum Research Teaching Group?

The curriculum research teaching group led by Professor Cui Yunhuo has successively established the first humanities and social sciences key base of the Ministry of Education, the national high-end think tank, the “Shanghai Cultivating People with Sublime Virtue” base, and the China CTTI think tank. They led the drafting of important policy texts such as the National Basic Education Curriculum Reform Outline and the Chinese Teacher Education Curriculum Standards. The research group has made outstanding contributions to basic education curriculum reform and teacher education curriculum reform in 21st century. The group members published more than 1,300 important papers, more than 200 books, and more than 20 SSCI papers. The group hosted at least 100 major projects, and won more than 53 awards, which including 4 national-level teaching achievement awards, 7 teaching achievement awards and 3 national education outstanding achievement awards in the last four years.

The group actively served the national strategic decision, it not only led the Chinese curriculum and teaching reform professionally, but established a theoretical system of curriculum with Chinese characteristics. What’s more, the group created a new path to promote the experience of Chinese curriculum reform. ICI was also known as the “National Team” in the research of curriculum and instruction field.

How ICI Cultivate People with Sublime Virtue?

In order to further implement the fundamental tasks of cultivate people with sublime virtue, the ICI research group focus on “scientific research and education”:

1. Make use of the advantages of the high level national major projects, let students 100% involved in scientific research;

2. Inviting well-known experts at home and abroad to participate in the curriculum construction and talent training of graduate students, and provide high-quality learning opportunities for students' scientific research development;

3. Make use of the resource of rich international talents and strong international influence to share the latest academic frontier theory and development trends to students timely;

4. Utilize the advanced leadership of team building, fully exploit the educational function of scientific research, and cultivate people throughout the whole process of teaching and research activities.

The curriculum research teaching group will always adhere to the professional belief of “For Curriculum, For Students, For the Future”, we hope to strengthen academic exchanges with the academic circles at home and abroad, strive to gather outstanding talents, work together to promote curriculum reform and basic education development, and explore the road that contribute to national rejuvenation and world progress.
