Learning-plan and Key Competencies: “The 2nd Academic Forum of the National High School Learning-plan” Was Held in Zhengzhou

From October 12 to 13, 2018, “The 2nd Academic Forum of National High School Learning-plan" was held in Zhengzhou Huimin Middle School. More than 480 people from 74 high schools and educational research institutes attended the forum.

On the morning of the 12th, Ms. Wang Haihua, who came from Zhengzhou Municipal Education Bureau, expressed her sincere welcome to the guests and friends. She pointed out that this forum provides a professional platform for high-end dialogue for cross-regional education, and has injected new vitality to the in-depth basic education reform. She believed that this forum will provide a good opportunity for the development of the education of Zhengzhou.

Experts Reported on the Conference: Professional Leading and Promoting Reform

After the opening ceremony, Mrs. Zhu Muju, Prof. Cui Yunhuo, Associate Professor Zhou Wenye, and President of Zhengzhou Huizhong Li Yuguo reported on the conference. Focused on the theme--“key competency”, the four leaders and experts shared the latest developments and achievements from many aspects, such as “New Curriculum Concept of Ordinary High School, Learning-plan Design, Performance Evaluation, and School-based Learning-plan Education”.

Seminar on Learning-plan Classes: The Same Content with Different Structure, and Professional Discussion

On the afternoon of the 12th, 18 teachers from the Union Schools of Beijing No. 4 Middle School, Nanjing No. 1 Middle School, Zhengzhou Huimin Middle School, etc., carried out the discussion of constructing the same content (nine subjects) with different structure. Its target design, learning tasks, and evaluation criteria all point to the cultivation and implementation of the key competencies of the discipline. Learning-plan-based teaching hopes that the teaching really starts from the student's standpoint, presents the students' real learning experience in the classroom, guides the students to deep study, and forms students’ key competencies.

Learning-plan Experience Sharing: How to Practice

One year after the establishment of the Learning-plan League, under the guidance of the expert team led by Professor Cui Yunhuo, the league schools have actively promoted the teaching practice with the “learner-centered” education concept and achieved a series of achievements. On the morning of the 13th, the representatives of the League schools shared their experience. Professor Cui Yunhuo gave guidance and comments to them, and answered questions of the participating teachers.

Learning-plan Discussion: Professional Discussion, Continue to Advance

On the afternoon of the 13th, the teachers of the League schools deeply exchanged ideas with Prof. Cui Yunhuo and Associate Professor Zhou Wenye. They discussed some key issues about the design and implementation of learning-plan, and further promote its implementation in classroom.

This forum builds a good platform to bring together the education colleagues from all over the country to realize self-renewal during communication. The team will continue to tackle the problem, focusing on the teaching of academic records, promoting the transformation of classroom teaching, and promoting students' learning, independent development and long-term development!
