ICI Signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement with the German International Textbook Institute (GEI)

As the only key research base of humanities and social sciences in the curriculum and instruction field, ICI has always had deep research strength and accumulated large amount of achievements in curriculum and instruction field.

In view of the new situation at home and abroad, and the various important theoretical and practical problems encountered in the construction process, based on local needs, ICI vigorously expands the deep cooperation with the world's top textbook research institutions, and is committed to promoting the deep textbook research of China from an international perspective, which will help further expand its international influence.

On November 2nd, Professor Eckhardt Fuchs, Director of the Georg Eckert Institute for International Textbook Research (GEI), visited ICI, and met with Professor Cui Yunhuo. The two sides discussed the future cooperation in textbook research. The two strategic cooperation agreements were formally signed, the signing ceremony was presided over by Professor Chen Shuangye, the deputy director of ICI.

After signing the contract, the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation on the above contents, focus on solving the problems encountered in the research and construction of teaching materials in China, form and optimize the theoretical and practical solutions for the construction of teaching materials.

★ Brief Introduction of GEI★

GEI, founded in 1975, is the world's most well-known and most important independent research institution of textbooks. GEI is a member of the famous Leibniz Association in Germany. It has long been working with international organizations such as UNESCO to develop and do research on international textbooks. At present, GEI has the world's largest collection of textbooks in various countries, and maintains close cooperation and exchanges with major libraries, textbook publishers and research institutions around the world.

★ Research Sharing ★

In 2018, Professor Eckhardt Fuchs, the current director, led the editors and published the first booklet of the International Textbooks (The Palgrave Handbook of Textbook Studies). ICI is now doing the translation work and will publish the Chinese version of the textbook research manual next year.
