To further promote high-quality development in foreign language education at East China Normal University, strengthen research on foreign language curriculum and teaching materials for universities, middle schools, and primary schools, and explore effective paths for cultivating interdisciplinary talents through the "foreign language plus" model, a delegation of 13 people, including Han Chunhong, Party Secretary of the School of Foreign Languages at East China Normal University, and Vice Deans Wang Jing and Zhao Chaoyong, visited the Curriculum Research Institute on July 1st for a special research visit.
Chen Shuangye, Executive Deputy Director of the Faculty of Education; Cui Yunhuo, Director of the Curriculum Research Institute; Yang Xiaozhe, Party Secretary of the Curriculum Department; Liu Junyan, Deputy Director of the Department; and seven other faculty members, including Guo Baoxian and Fu Lili, attended the research meeting. The meeting was chaired by Professor Zhou Wenye, Director of the Curriculum Department.
Cui Yunhuo, Director of the Curriculum Research Institute, first extended a warm welcome to the delegation from the School of Foreign Languages. Professor Cui Yunhuo highly praised the School of Foreign Languages' achievements and strengths in talent training, multilingual textbook development, and corpus development. He expressed his hope that both sides will leverage their respective strengths to engage in in-depth cooperation in developing independent knowledge systems, researching global textbooks, and cultivating interdisciplinary talents.

Han Chunhong, Party Secretary of the School of Foreign Languages, stated in her speech that foreign language education is currently in a critical period of transformation and development, and must proactively align with national strategic needs and the cultivation of talent for global governance. She expressed her hope to leverage the expertise of the Curriculum Institute's "dual base" platform to explore potential collaboration between the two institutions.
Chen Shuangye, Executive Deputy Director of the Faculty of Education, highly praised the strategic significance of this interdepartmental exchange. She noted that given the dual challenges of digital transformation and international development, the strong alliance between the Curriculum Institute and the School of Foreign Languages is timely and will help promote the "going global" of Chinese education and enhance its international voice in education.
The participating faculty engaged in in-depth discussions on the innovative development of foreign language education in the new era, exploring potential collaboration in areas such as curriculum development, textbook development, the application of intelligent educational technologies, teacher professional development, and talent cultivation.


It has laid a solid foundation for in-depth cooperation between the two institutions. Both parties expressed their commitment to fully leverage their respective strengths to jointly promote high-quality development of university education and make greater contributions to serving national strategic needs.
