ICI Teaching and Researching║Departmental Research as a Foundation: Curriculum Department Aids in Enhancing Teachers' Professional Teaching Skills

On the morning of March 13, teachers from the Curriculum Department held an institute-based teaching research on the topic of improving teachersprofessional teaching abilities. The meeting specially invited Professor Du Chengxian, former head of the Department of Education, and Shao Xiaohong, deputy director of the Teaching Affairs Department of the Department of Education, to attend the meeting for guidance. Liu Junyan, deputy director of the Curriculum Department, presided over the meeting.

At the meeting, Shao Xiaohong first shared about "Understanding Undergraduate Teaching Information from the Need for Professional Title Assessment", focusing on the main documents based on the professional title assessment of teachers in our school, how teachers apply for undergraduate courses, undergraduate teaching quality assessment methods, and course opening suggestions. etc., encouraging teachers to continue to enhance and continuously improve their teaching standards.

Later, Yang Xiaozhe introduced the design ideas of the course "Educational Technology Culture" that he participated in the 6th Shanghai University Young Teacher Teaching Competition (hereinafter referred to as the "Youth Teacher Competition"), and conducted a teaching practice for its third lesson, "Virtual Reality and New Spaces."

Previously, Yang Xiaozhe had participated in two rounds of selection competitions within East China Normal University and won the first prize, and was selected as the only representative teacher in the field of sociology to participate in the 6th Shanghai Universities Young Teachers Teaching Competition.

In this departmental teaching and research session, the department specially invited Professor Du Chengxian, a guidance expert for the Youth Teaching Competition, Deputy Director Shao Xiaohong of the Faculty Teaching Affairs Department, and faculty members to refine and discuss the content of Teacher Yang Xiaozhe's competition entry.

Professor Du Chengxian comprehensively introduced the evaluation of the Youth Teaching Competition in previous years and the process of this internal selection, providing comprehensive, detailed, and professional guidance on how to optimize Yang Xiaozhe's course "Educational Technology Culture," including the teaching outline and the teaching segment PPTs.

Professor Cui Yunhuo, the director of the institute, on behalf of the department, thanked Professor Du Chengxian and Shao Xiaohong for their guidance. He suggested that Yang Xiaozhe further refine the teaching outline, adjust teaching chapters, supplement classroom evaluations, and optimize teaching materials based on the collective discussion. He encouraged Yang to give his best effort and achieve excellence on the stage of the Youth Teaching Competition!
