Introduction of the Research Result

The paper “Parenting style and aggression: A meta-analysis of mainland Chinese children and youth” was officially published on the journal Children and Youth Services Review in 2018. It was mainly expounded from three aspects:

First, it is confirmed that in the Chinese context, positive parental rearing style has an important inhibitory effect on students’ bullying behavior, negative rearing style has a significant stimulating effect on students’ bullying behavior, and compared with positive rearing style, the influence of negative rearing style on students’ bullying behavior is more obvious.

Second, because the intervention resources available to parents in economically developed areas are more abundant, students’ bullying behavior is more influenced by parental rearing styles.

Third, with the growth of students, the influence of parental rearing style on students’ bullying behavior is gradually weakened.
