Strengthen Management, ICI Held the Fourth Promotion Meeting for Major Projects

On June 26, ICI held the fourth "13th five-year Plan Base Major Project Promotion Seminar" in the office building ofECNU. Yang Guangjun, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Professor Xunyuan, Executive Deputy Director of the Department of Education of ECNU, Professor Zhu Junwen, Director of the Department of Scientific Research, Professor Yang Xiangdong, head of the Department of Educational Psychology, and Professor Cui Yunhuo, Director of ICI, served as evaluation experts. Professor Huo Jiucang, Vice President of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences of ECNU, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Professor Chen Shuangye, Deputy Director of ICI, and Associate Professor Wang Tao, Assistant Director of ICI, presided over the morning and afternoon meetings respectively. All the full-time and part-time researchers of the course participated in the discussion of the meeting.

Interim Report Made by Project Leader

Professor Wang Zuhao, made a report on “The Key Issues in the Development of Curriculum Standards Based on Core Literacy”


Professor Wang Zuhao mainly reported from five aspects: first, the theoretical research of core literacy; second, the research of interdisciplinary literacy (ICSE) in science education; third, the research on the integration of subject core literacy and curriculum content; the fourth is the study of academic quality standards; the fifth is the evaluation of the core literacy of the discipline. Up to May 2019, the research group has published 3 SSCI papers and 7 CSSCI papers.

Professor Xu Binyan made a report on “The Evaluation of Chinese Students' Mathematical Literacy”


Professor Xu Binyan mainly reported from four aspects: first, combing the results, updating the evaluation scheme, and implementing it; second, constructing the coding system and perfecting the coding scheme; the third is to analyze and process the empirical data, at the same time start the historical text analysis; the fourth is to plan the iconic achievements, implement the publishing matters, and start writing. Up to now, the research group has published 8 SSCI papers and 6 speeches at international conferences.

Professor Zhou Yong made report on “The Theoretical Construction of Historical and Cultural Tradition of Chinese Curriculum Reform”


Professor Zhou Yong reported on the progress of the subject research and the results of the preparatory conclusion. The main results will open up new fields for the study of curriculum history and re-understand the history of curriculum reform in ancient, modern and contemporary China on the basis of the existing achievements in theoretical circles. Furthermore, this paper gives the answers based on Chinese historical experience on the important theoretical and practical problems involved in curriculum reform, so as to provide reference for breaking through the discourse of western mainstream curriculum reform and constructing the theory of curriculum reform with Chinese characteristics. Up to now, the research group has published 15 CSSCI papers and 1 monograph.

Professor Wu Gangping made report on "Research on Curriculum Integration Based on Core Literacy"

Professor Wu Gangping reported mainly from three aspects: research progress, existing problems and follow-up thinking. The key research work carried out by the research group has four aspects: first, the main progress of theoretical framework and key points research; second, the main progress of theoretical and practical experience research in developed countries and regions; third, the main progress of traditional resources and contemporary reality research in China; fourth, the main progress of theoretical problems and practical case studies. Up to now, the research group has published 14 CSSCI papers.

Professor Hu Huimin made report on "Promoting the Reconstruction of Teaching and Research System in Primary and Middle Schools for Classroom Transformation"

Professor Hu Huimin reported mainly from four aspects: research progress, main achievements, existing problems and follow-up thinking. The key research work carried out by the research group has three aspects: one is to carry out literature research around the challenges of classroom transformation and teaching and research system, and the other is to carry out investigation and research around the current situation and influence of teaching and research system in our country; the third is a case study of the influence of teaching and research institutions on classroom teaching in primary and secondary schools and the quality of primary and secondary education. Up to now, the research group has formed a series of achievements around the organization and function of teaching and research, the reform of the content and mode of teaching and research, the quality of teaching and research staff and the standard of entry. In the future, we will further strengthen the transformation of teaching and research and classroom teaching, improve the teaching and research system and so on.


Strengthening Process Management and Sharing Academic Resources

In order to strengthen the process management of major projects at the base and promote the output of outstanding results of the project, ICI held three meetings on the promotion of major projects. Each meeting has formed a detailed summary of the meeting and a record of expert comments for reference in the discussion and exchange of the next meeting.
